Broadway Version of 'Schmigadoon!' Series Debuts First Look Ahead of Performances Beginning This Weekend!

The Apple TV series Schmigadoon! is now a Broadway musical and the first look has been revealed!

SNL legend Lorne Michaels is bringing the acclaimed musical TV series to the stage, with writer Cinco Paul returning to write the book and musical score to the show.

Schmigadoon! stars Alex Brightman and Sara Chase as Josh Skinner and Melissa Gimble, a couple who accidentally wanders into Schmigadoon – the magical town where every day is a musical. Everybody has a song for everything, the corn is as high as an elephant’s eye, and the only bridge out of town leads nowhere. Melissa and Josh soon discover the only way to escape is by finding true love—which may or may not be with each other.

The musical also stars Ana Gasteyer as Mildred Layton, Ann Harada reprising her role as Florence Menlove, Brad Oscar as Mayor Menlove, Isabelle McCalla as Emma Tate, Ivan Hernandez as Doc, Maulik Pancholy as The Reverend, Max Clayton as Danny Bailey, McKenzie Kurtz as Betsy Tate, and Ayaan Diop as Carson.

Preview performances begin on Saturday, April 4 at the Nederlander Theatre with an opening night set for Monday, April 20. The limited engagement will run through September 6. Tickets are on sale now!

Two seasons of Schmigadoon were created for Apple TV, with the second season focusing on musicals of the 60s and 70s.
