DEVELOPING: A-10 Warthog Downed and Black Hawk Helicopters Take Fire Amid Search for Missing F-15 Pilot – Pilots Safe

Two more US military aircraft were downed in the Middle East on Friday, in addition to an F-15E Strike Eagle that crashed earlier. 

An A-10 Warthog reportedly went down contemporaneously with the crash of the F-15, according to the New York Times.

Officials have not stated the cause of the crash or the country where it occurred, but it reportedly occurred near the Strait of Hormuz.

The pilot was safely rescued.

Additionally, Black Hawk helicopter was hit by Iran. Preliminary reports suggest that the Blackhawk was hit during search and rescue operations but landed safely. It was later reported that two helicopters were struck by Iranian fire during the search and rescue, but all crew members are safe.

NBC reports, “Two U.S. military helicopters that were involved in the F-15 search and rescue efforts were struck by Iranian fire, but the service members are all safe, according to a U.S. official.”

As The Gateway Pundit reported earlier, US officials confirmed that an F-15E was shot down over Iran.

Iranian state media posted the following clip, claiming that US aircraft were spotted flying low over Iran in search of the pilots.

A search and rescue for one of the two crew members is still ongoing after one was found earlier. The second crew member is still on the ground as night falls over Iran. Meanwhile, Iranian officials have promised a reward for his capture.
