Emmy Rossum just made her first outing in nearly a year, and we’re so obsessed with her look!
In case you missed it, on March 31, the Shameless alum turned heads in a super-rare outing for the PEN America 62nd Annual Literary Awards at Town Hall in NYC. See the photos below:
As we said, this is her first outing in nearly a year! The last public outing she made was when she attended the premiere of The Amateur on April 2, 2025.
For the rare outing, Rossum wowed in a metallic-blue, spaghetti-strap gown from Alejandra Alonso Rojas. While we love her look and her statement silver earrings, we continue to be obsessed with her natural curls! (And we love it even more when you remember her hair journey!)

While Rossum is quite a private celebrity, she has talked about her iconic curly hair, and how showing it off has been a form of confidence for her.
“What I love about curly hair, I think that it projects a confidence. For so many years, I straightened my hair. I keratin-ed my hair. I would flat-iron and blow-dry and try to kind of contort this into a different ideal of beauty, and finally embracing my natural hair is something that now makes me feel so unique,” she said in the video on Instagram via People.
