Windsurfer Smashes Into Whale in Wild Footage
Windsurfing is an extreme sport for a reason.
The recreational activity combines sailing and surfing at high speed. What's more, it's usually considered fun, but also super dangerous when performed in the ocean.
There are boats and pontoons to deal with, but nobody expects to run into a giant whale literally. But that's exactly what happened to one windsurfer, who fortunately came out of the bizarre experience unharmed.

In footage shared by Fox News, a windsurfer can be seen enjoying his afternoon in San Francisco Bay. The weather seemed perfect, and bystanders on a boat were in awe of his performance.
So much so they started recording and captured the moment the windsurfer collided with a surfacing whale.
You can see the windsurfer take a tumble when he collides with the whale. The windsurfer falls over, prompting witnesses to look and react in shock.
The outlet reports that, fortunately for all involved, neither the whale nor the windsurfer appeared to have been injured.

It Could Be Worse ...
While the whale and windsurfer appear to be OK after the incident, the same cannot be said about encounters with an entirely different kind of whale in Portugal.
It was back in September when it was reported that an orca pod attacked a luxury yacht off the coast of Portugal near Fonte da Telha beach.
It was at least the second attack on a luxury vessel. This yacht was carrying five passengers when an orca pod repeatedly struck the hull of the vessel.
The luxury yacht sank, but the passengers were not harmed.
