Tottenham fans will be shocked to hear who the club 'very briefly' considered as short-term manager
Alasdair Gold reveals whether the Tottenham leadership considered the idea of bringing Ange Postecoglou to the club after parting ways with Igor Tudor.
The Tudor experiment blew up in Tottenham’s faces, with the Croat lasting just 43 days in the job and picking up just one point in his five Premier League games in charge of the club.

Spurs have turned to Roberto De Zerbi not just to save them from relegation but also to get the club back up to where they belong, with the Italian coaching comitting himself to Tottenham for the long term.
De Zerbi has already made it clear that he favours possession-based, attacking football, and his arrival represents another reset for the club following Thomas Frank’s more pragmatic approach.
Tottenham did briefly consider bringing Ange Postecoglou back
Posteocoglou refused to discuss the possibility of returning to Tottenham when the question was put to him last month.
The Australian was sacked by the North London club last summer despite delivering the Europa League title, and it has now been revealed by Alasdair Gold that the Spurs hierarchy did very briefly consider bringing Postecoglou back.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Gold said: “I am told that they very briefly did consider a short-term return for Ange Postecoglou. When I talk briefly, I mean literally like ‘Yeah, no’. You know that really shouldn’t be made into anything more than that.”
Can De Zerbi get a reaction out of the Spurs squad?
According to reports, the Tottenham squad are excited about De Zerbi’s arrival and are looking forward to working with the former Brighton boss.
The Italian has made it clear that he is already well-versed with the Spurs squad, having watched the side play a lot of late.
The club’s leadership will be hoping that, unlike Tudor, De Zerbi can get an instant reaction from the squad and instil them with some confidence.
