Several brands of deli meat that taste and smell ‘off’ have been recalled
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says several brands of poultry deli meat sold across the country have been recalled because they taste and smell “off.”
The CFIA says the 30 recalled turkey and chicken products were sold under the brand names Compliments, Ziggy’s, Your Fresh Market, Selection, Royal and Lillydale.
Compliments products are sold at Loblaw stores, such as Provigo and Maxi; Your Fresh Market is a Walmart store brand; Compliments is a Metro store brand.
The recall also includes meat sold by food service distributors Sysco and, under the brand name Brickman’s, by Gordon Food Service.
The CFIA said the meat was recalled by Sofina Foods Inc., a Markham, Ont.-based food manufacturer and distributor
The agency says the recalled meat should not be used or served.
