Four-star guard Quentin Coleman commits to Illinois
By JAMES MADDEN
Illinois has landed a commitment from four-star guard Quentin Coleman, he announced on Friday. A 6-foot-4 senior at the Principia School (MO), Coleman was previously committed to Wake Forest before reopening his recruitment on March 7th. He chose the Illini over Missouri and Texas Tech.
Over the summer, Coleman told ZAGSBLOG he was looking for a program that was patient with freshmen and willing to let them make mistakes.
“Just a good development system and a team that will let me play, let me rock, let me make mistakes,” Coleman said. “Because when you come down on campus, you’re not going to be perfect. So just a school that will allow me to play and play through mistakes.”
Coleman’s high school coach, Jay Blossom, also told ZAGSBLOG that Coleman is a “flat out winner.”
He is a strong three-point shooter and one of the best rebounding guards in the class of 2026. Spending last summer with Brad Beal Elite on the Nike EYBL circuit, Coleman shot around 39% from deep for his hometown squad.
Ranked as 247Sports’ No. 34 overall recruit, Coleman is Illinois’ fourth commit in the class of 2026, joining Lucas Morillo, Ethan Brown and Landon Davis.
