Phillies ABS challenge tracker: Which players are best at overturning calls through new system?
The newly implemented automated ball-strike challenge system has added a different dimension to Major League Baseball for the 2026 season. Most players and coaches seem to be in favor of the ability to contest a home-plate umpire’s call on a pitch, and, as noted by Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto, the fans might be as excited for an ABS challenge in a key spot as any other moment during the action.
“It kind of brings a little comedic relief to the game,” Realmuto said on April 1.
