EAC installs more smart meters across island
More electricity smart meters are being installed this month on a large scale, the electricity authority (EAC) announced on Friday, reminding consumers that power will be cut off for about 20 minutes until the upgrade is complete.
In Nicosia, the homes to get the new batch of smart meters are east of Yiannos Kranidiotis avenue from Ayios Georgios street till Alexander the Great avenue, and along Ayios Georgios street and Demetris Stavrou avenue in Latsia.
Smart meters will also be installed either side of the Nicosia-Limassol motorway, from Rizokarpaso street and Eleftherios Venizelos street up to the Dhali industrial area, specifically Helioupolis and Kallithea areas.
The whole of Tseri municipality will also have the smart meters installed.
In Limassol, the areas are between October 28th avenue, Archbishop Makarios III avenue and Grivas Digenis, Gladstone and Anexartisia streets.
For Larnaca, the whole of Oroklini has been designated.
In the Famagusta district, smart meters will be installed in the centre of Dherynia and along Archbishop Makarios III avenue and Stadiou avenue.
Paphos will get the new meters north of Archbishop Makarios III avenue up till Evagoras Pallikarides street in Yeroskipou.
