10.2 Million Home Depot Metal Wire Bristle Grill Brushes Recalled
The Nexgrill 19-Inch Grill Brush, which is carried in-store and online at Home Depot, was recalled on March 26, 2026 due to serious safety concerns. According to the report, the small metal wire bristles can detach from the brush and stick to the grill—or even end up in the food you’re preparing. This presents a serious ingestion hazard and could lead to internal injuries that require surgery.
The U.S. Product Safety Commission reports that Nexgrill knows of at least 68 incidents where the wire bristles have detached from the grill brushes. This includes five reports of individuals who have swallowed the metal bristles and required medical attention in order to remove them from their throat or digestive tract.
Consumers are urged to stop using he recalled grill brushes immediately and get in touch with Nexgrill for a complete refund in the form of a gift card.
“Consumers will be provided with a registration code as part of the recall process and will be directed to upload a photograph of their grill brush with that code and their initials to the recall website to register for the recall,” the U.S. Product Safety Commission writes. “After receiving a confirmation email that their registration has been successfully processed, consumers will then receive directions on how to discard of the recalled grill brush.”
