Meryl Streep Works the Cameras, Pays Homage to 'Devil Wears Prada' Cerulean Blue Sweater on 'Late Show' (Video)
Meryl Streep is working the cameras!
The 76-year-old acting legend stepped out for an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Wednesday (April 1) in New York City.
Ahead of the taping, she posed for photos outside. Inside, she showed off her blue sweater during the broadcast, and noted to Stephen that it was an homage to Anne Hathaway.
If you don’t know, in The Devil Wears Prada, Anne‘s character famously wears a cerulean sweater which sparks an iconic speech from Miranda Priestly, Meryl‘s character.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 will be released in theaters on May 1, with Anne and Meryl reprising their roles.
“This is Annie Hathaway‘s outfit from the first Devil Wears Prada,” Meryl stated. Watch the entire interview, embedded above.
By the way, throughout the press tour, you may notice that Meryl calls Anne Hathaway by the name “Annie.” Anne actually spoke about this years ago.
FYI: Meryl is carrying DeMellier’s Hudson bag and wearing a J.Crew sweater, Givenchy coat and pants.
