Michigan guard Elliot Cadeau hospitalized due to allergic reaction

Michigan’s starting point guard suffered a medical complication just ahead of the Final Four.

Elliot Cadeau was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday after suffering an allergic reaction, Michigan announced.

Statement from Michigan athletics to The Wolverine:

Before the team departed the Player Development Center today, Elliot Cadeau alerted the medical staff that he may have had an allergic reaction to something that he ate. The doctors evaluated Elliot and he is fine.

Cadeau is expected to be fine but is under medical monitoring out of an abundance of caution. The 6-foot-1 guard is a critical piece to Michigan’s team. He’s averaging 10.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game for the Wolverines.

While his departure to Indianapolis has been delayed he is expected to join the team and recover from his complication.
