Wayfair's new Atlanta store showcases the e-commerce giant's best offerings in person.
Jaclyn Turner/Business Insider
Wayfair's new 150,000-square-foot Atlanta store lets you shop furniture, decor, appliances, and more in person, with curated selections from top brands and its own labels.
Shoppers can try sofas, mattresses, and even shower fixtures in-store, then scan QR codes for quick delivery.
The store is designed to make it easier to discover, compare, and confidently buy home essentials.
Wayfair has opened a massive new store in Atlanta. After getting an early preview ahead of its public debut, it's clear this isn't just a showroom — it's one of the easiest ways to shop the brand's best furniture, decor, and appliances in person.
The 150,000-square-foot space, located in a former Walmart, brings Wayfair's online catalog to life across 18 departments. For shoppers who have long relied solely on reviews and photos, the biggest draw is simple: you can finally see, touch, and try before you buy.
Read on for my experience exploring the store — though even after a full walkthrough, it feels like I only scratched the surface — and for some of my favorite finds.
What you can shop in store
Jaclyn Turner/Business Insider
The Atlanta location is a true one-stop shop for the home. You'll find a curated mix of Wayfair's private labels — including Birch Lane, Perigold, and AllModern — alongside recognizable brands like Cuisinart, Shark, Solo Stove, and Smeg.
Categories span nearly every corner of the home, including:
Furniture and decor
Mattresses and bedding
Outdoor and seasonal items
Kitchen appliances and cookware
Bath and home improvement
Lighting
Storage and organization
Kids and baby
While the assortment represents only a fraction of Wayfair's full inventory, everything is intentionally selected to highlight bestsellers, high-quality pieces that have been Wayfair Verified, and trend-forward finds.
A few of my favorite Wayfair finds from the store
How the Wayfair store compares to shopping the brand online
Jaclyn Turner/Business Insider
For longtime Wayfair shoppers, the biggest upgrade is the ability to experience products in person. Sofas, recliners, and mattresses are all available to test, while interactive displays — like working shower fixtures and faucet setups — let you try before committing.
"The range is intended to showcase the brands people know and love, along with some new discoveries," said Liza Lefkowski, vice president of merchandising and stores. "It's meant to feel very intentional while still covering a lot of ground."
Each item features a digital price tag that matches Wayfair's online pricing, along with a QR code that links directly to product details and reviews. Thousands of items are also available for same-day purchase through "cash and carry." Large furniture and appliances can be shipped directly to your home.
The store also offers free in-person design services, plus options for in-home assembly and installation, making it easier to plan and execute full-room upgrades.
Let's go on a walk through of the store
Jaclyn Turner/Business Insider
My dream shopping day is in view. Wayfair is located at The District at Howell Mill in West Midtown, in Atlanta joining other retailers like T.J.Maxx, Homegoods, Ulta, and Petsmart. The Wayfair store is located on the lower level and has abundant covered parking. A large mural adorns the outside.
The single-level space was a "no-brainer" for Wayfair, with Lefkowski mentioning Atlanta's large customer base and central location as a key reason to open in the Atlanta market.
Greeted with seasonal finds and entry displays
Jaclyn Turner/Business Insider
Right at the entrance, rotating displays highlight seasonal trends. During my visit, a spring-themed setup leaned into playful, impulse-friendly decor — think strawberry-shaped kitchenware, colorful serveware, and faux florals. At the second entrance, you're greeted with Adirondack chairs and other outdoor entertaining essentials. Even though the store is new, there was lots of sale signage throughout highlighting Wayfair's discounts.
The Market Square sits at the center of the store
Jaclyn Turner/Business Insider
At the heart of the store is the Market Square will also change seasonally; Right now it highlight faux florals and greenery and other gardening decor. Directly behind it sits all of the throw pillows, candles, organizational baskets, and wall art your heart and home could handle. It's an easy place to refresh a space without committing to larger purchases.
Vignettes across the store provided great decor inspo
Jaclyn Turner/Business Insider
Throughout the store there were several shoppable vignettes set up for various inspiration when it comes to decorating your living room, dining room, bedroom, or home office. Wayfair also offers free in-person design services to help you design your dream space. There are also in home set up and assembly services, too.
Endless living room seating options
Jaclyn Turner/Business Insider
One of the biggest advantages of shopping in-store is being able to test seating firsthand to find your new best sofa. The showroom includes a wide range of sofas and recliners, from traditional La-Z-Boy styles to more modern, streamlined designs. I also noticed a particular emphasis on motion upholstery, which were prominently placed right next to the check out.
The variety suggests recliners are evolving into more design-forward pieces worth considering. I liked this Rishaba Power Recliner which would be super comfortable in a nursery or this extra-wide corduroy chair that doesn't obviously look like a recliner.
Home improvement gets a major spotlight
Jaclyn Turner/Business Insider
It's easy to build out your dream kitchen and bath, with complete cabinetry and tile design programs. There are also major appliances on display from Frigidaire, LG, Bosch, GE, Cafe, Smeg, Samsung, and Zline. Several staged kitchen layouts help shoppers picture how pieces will look and function with design experts on hand to help you put it all together.
The bathroom projects department is loaded with plumbing fixtures and vanities, and even a "Shower Experience" that lets you see how popular fixtures spray while you can also shift faucets to see how they look on the various vanities.
"My hypothesis is that we'll see Home Improvement departments take off in store relative to online, just because that's a type of category where you really appreciate the help and the collaboration with someone in store," said Lefkowski.
Housewares and entertaining essentials from top brands
Jaclyn Turner/Business Insider
The kitchen section brings together everything from espresso machines and air fryers to cookware and serveware, often merchandised alongside complementary accessories to encourage full setup purchases.
A dedicated mattress showroom
Jaclyn Turner/Business Insider
In the Dream Center, you can try mattresses from brands like Tempur-Pedic, Serta, and Beautyrest, with specialists available to guide you through the selection process. There's also several affordable Wayfair Sleep by Wayfair on display, representing an opportunity to interact with mattresses that previously were only available online.
Bedroom and bedding
Jaclyn Turner/Business Insider
Bed frames and bedding are displayed together, and QR codes make it easy to shop entire setups directly from the floor — a major upgrade from browsing individual listings online.
A colorful baby and kids section
Jaclyn Turner/Business Insider
Wayfair has a dedicated children's section to plan out a gorgeous nursery or kids bedroom. They also host family friendly activities each month.
Home office and storage solutions
Jaclyn Turner/Business Insider
The home office section includes a wide range of seating, from budget-friendly task chairs to higher-end ergonomic options, plus desks of all shapes and sizes. A dedicated "Find your office chair" area helps guide shoppers toward the right fit.
Storage and organization products are another highlight, especially for small spaces. Several shoe organizers and shelving units stood out as surprisingly sturdy and affordable, many priced under $150.
An outdoor living and entertaining destination
Jaclyn Turner/Business Insider
Wayfair's long been one of our favorite places to shop for outdoor patio furniture, but Wayfair's outdoor assortment is especially strong in-store, with patio furniture, umbrellas, grills, and accessories all displayed together.
From compact tabletop grills to larger setups and decorative accents like a $70 fringed umbrella, it's easy to envision and build out a full outdoor entertaining space in one visit.
Small details that make a difference
Jaclyn Turner/Business Insider
Beyond major categories, the store includes thoughtful touches that enhance the shopping experience. Local brands, like Sukie's Candle Co, are featured throughout, alongside artwork from regional artists. For Georgia Bulldog fans, I spotted some fun decor, like wall lights and outdoor accessories.
There's also an in-store café serving all-day brunch, coffee, and drinks — making it easier to turn a quick shopping trip into a longer browsing experience.
The final takeaway
Jaclyn Turner/Business Insider
After a full walkthrough, what stands out most is how much easier Wayfair has made the shopping process. The ability to test products, compare options side by side, and immediately purchase or scan to buy online removes many of the biggest friction points of buying home goods.
For anyone who's hesitated to order a sofa, mattress, or large furniture piece online, this store offers a much more confident way to shop.
Wayfair Atlanta is open now. If you don't live close to one of the two Wayfair stores, you can shop the brand's Big Outdoor Sale to save up to 50% off outdoor furniture, rugs, and storage.
