A Prayer For Doors You Want God To Open
Finding peace starts with surrendering our worries to the universe and trusting that God’s guidance will meet us in the middle of our uncertainty. Best-selling author of Finding God Every Day, Rebecca Simon, reminds us to trust God’s timing, embrace patience, and lean on His presence through every season of life.
Sometimes the hardest part isn’t the waiting — it’s wondering whether anything is actually on the other side of the wait. But every season of stillness has purpose. God prepares you in the places that feel quiet, clarifies your desires in the days that feel uncertain, and strengthens your spirit long before the door swings open.
You don’t have to force what’s meant for you. The right doors open with peace. The wrong ones close with protection. And the doors God intends for you? They arrive exactly when your heart is ready to walk through them.
If you’re praying for new doors, keep going — you’re not being overlooked. You’re being prepared.
God,
You know the doors I’ve been standing in front of — the ones I’ve knocked on, prayed over, and wondered if they were ever meant for me. You see the desires I hold in my heart, the opportunities I’m hoping for, and the places where I’m trying to trust even when I can’t see what’s ahead.
If the door I’m praying for is aligned with the life you’re shaping in me, then prepare me for it. Strengthen my character, steady my steps, and make me ready for what I’ve been asking you to bless me with. And if a door is not meant for me — if it would pull me away from peace or purpose, then let it close gently and clearly, so I don’t lose myself trying to force what was never mine.
Show me the next right step, God. Keep my heart soft, and my mind clear. I trust you fully. When the timing is right, let the right doors open in a way that brings me peace. And until that moment comes, help me stay faithful in the waiting.
Amen.
