Microsoft is scrapping another Windows 11 troubleshooting tool
In recent years, Microsoft has discontinued a number of command-line tools, and now it’s time for yet another one to be retired.
This time, it’s the Support and Recovery Assistant (SaRA), a tool that’s been used for troubleshooting Microsoft 365, Office, Outlook, and Windows, among other Microsoft products and services. The removal announcement was published on this support page.
According to Microsoft, the tool may pose a security risk and has therefore been removed from Windows 11 as part of the updates rolled out to the public on March 10th. Learn more about the March update that fixed over 80 security vulnerabilities.
If you’re still relying on SaRA, Microsoft advises switching over to the Get Help command-line tool, which is the recommended replacement as SaRA is deprecated. The support page has FAQs that will get you started on Get Help and face you in the right direction.
