Projected 1st-round pick Tyler Tanner’s agency hints at his future
BY ALEJANDRO LOPEZ
A projected first round pick may not be entering the NBA Draft just yet.
Vanderbilt guard Tyler Tanner is expected to go late in the first round in the 2026 NBA Draft, according to tankathon.com. But his agency suggests the guard may remain in college at least another season.
Tanner recently announced he is joining CAASports. However, in the announcement CAA claims they are repping the 6-foot guard for “NIL representation”.
This implies that Tanner will not be heading to the NBA, where NIL is not a factor, and instead remain in college for another season.
The sophomore guard averaged 19.5 points, 3.6 rebounds and 5.1 assists this season for Vanderbilt on the way to a second round appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Should he remain in college he will get plenty of interest from programs around the country.
