60 Greatest Modified Drivers of All-Time: Woody Pitkat
The second generation hometown driver actually began his career as a full fendered driver, racing in Stafford Speedway’s DARE Stock and Late Model divisions from 1996-2003 before making his SK Modified® debut in 2004. Pitkat won Rookie of the Year honors in 2004 before scoring his first SK Modified® feature win in 2005. Pitkat’s 2 wins in 2005 were the first of his 30 career SK Modified® wins at the Connecticut half-mile track, which places him currently in 4th place on the all-time list.
Pitkat secured an SK Modified® track championship in 2013 and in addition to his 30 SK Modified® victories, he has 7 open modified wins, 2 Whelen Modified Tour wins, and 2 Modified Racing Series wins at Stafford, including the 2015 NAPA Spring Sizzler®. Pitkat has reached victory lane at other tracks across the Northeast and he also has 2 MRS championships to go along with his Stafford SK crown. In 2025 Pitkat was named one of the 40 Greatest Whelen Modified Tour drivers by NASCAR and he is now a member of 60 greatest modified drivers of all-time.
