Turkey Intelligence Chief Warns Israel-US War on Iran Risks Becoming Global Crisis

Turkey’s intelligence chief has warned that the war involving Iran, Israel and the United States risks expanding into a dangerous global crisis.

Ibrahim Kalin, the head of Turkey’s intelligence agency, has warned that the ongoing war involving Iran, Israel and the United States is moving toward becoming a much wider international crisis.

Speaking on Saturday at a gathering in Istanbul, Kalin said the conflict could evolve into a war for which “eight billion people” may ultimately pay the price, underscoring Turkey’s alarm over the pace of escalation.

Kalin said Turkey has carried out extensive diplomatic efforts to stop the war from spreading, but warned that if the fighting continues, the danger will no longer remain confined to the Middle East.

He also cautioned that the conflict could deepen ethnic, sectarian and regional fractures, making future reconciliation far more difficult and creating instability that could last well beyond the current military confrontation.

The Turkish intelligence chief stressed that Ankara supports efforts to launch negotiations and sees diplomacy as the only realistic way to prevent a broader regional and international breakdown.

Kalin’s warning comes as the Iran war has entered its second month, with missile and drone attacks, maritime threats and military deployments continuing to unsettle the wider region and global markets. Recent reporting has shown the conflict is already affecting trade routes and energy security.

Turkey has in recent weeks intensified contacts with regional governments, while countries such as Pakistan and China have also pushed for direct or indirect talks between Washington and Tehran to prevent further escalation. Ankara has publicly positioned itself as a supporter of mediation rather than military expansion.

With diplomatic windows narrowing and the humanitarian, political and economic costs rising, Kalin’s remarks reflect growing concern that failure to contain the conflict now could leave consequences far beyond the battlefield.
