Sarah Michelle Gellar & Freddie Prinze Jr’s ‘Secret Weapon’ to Raising Teens Relies on Two Factors
Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar are not only couple goals, but they never shy away from giving us parenting lesson gems! In fact, the Ready or Not 2: Here I Come star just revealed how she and Prinze handle parenting two teenagers, and we’re loving the simplicity of it!
In a recent interview with People, Gellar said: “Discipline and accountability are very important to both me and my husband. It’s been our secret weapon.”
“We’re known for being on time, knowing our stuff, not being crazy to work with. And so I think that discipline’s important in life and accountability for the mistakes or missteps and all of that,” she added. “In terms of myself as a parent…we both grew up very differently than our kids are growing up. We both grew up with single parents, not knowing where the next paycheck was going to come from.”
For those who don’t know, Gellar and Prinze met back in 1997 on the set of I Know What You Did Last Summer, but didn’t start dating until 2000. They got engaged in early 2001 and married nearly 18 months later, in Sept 2002. The lovebirds have two children together named Charlotte, born in 2009, and Rocky, born in 2012.
In a previous interview with SheKnows, Gellar talked about how everything changed when she became a mom, saying, “But all of a sudden, in your mind, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, you’re worried about these little beings in an incredibly all-consuming, beautiful but stressful way.”
