A Prayer For When You’re Afraid You Have Missed God’s Plan
Finding peace starts with surrendering our worries to the universe and trusting that God’s guidance will meet us in the middle of our uncertainty. Best-selling author of Finding God Every Day, Rebecca Simon, reminds us to trust God’s timing, embrace patience, and lean on His presence through every season of life.
Your wrong turns aren’t powerful enough to outrun God’s goodness.
If you’ve spent your day wondering if you’ve somehow fallen behind or missed the mark, let this prayer be your deep breath. There is no behind with God. There is only becoming.
God,
On the days I worry I have taken too many wrong turns, remind me that your grace is not a fragile thing. I look back at the choices I rushed and the doors I avoided, wondering if I have disqualified myself from the blessings you intended for me.
Meet me in this fear.
Remind me that nothing you have built for me can be undone by my confusion. Your plans are stronger than my detours, and your timing is kinder than my expectations. Where I see lost time, you see a sacred preparation. Where I fear I’ve fallen behind, you remind me there is no “behind” with you — there is only becoming.
Loosen my grip on regret. Quiet the voice in my heart that says I have ruined something sacred, and help me to rest in the truth:
I cannot miss what you have called mine.
Amen.
