Community Beat for 28 March

It may not be Friday, but it is time for another edition of the Community Beat! As usual, the community has not sat still and thus, we have a lot to discuss. Let's get into it.

Projects & Tools

There's been a steady stream of updates and projects coming out recently, with both newcomers and veterans putting their own spin on tools.

Zorath Ithika Zorath is a brand new player who decided to document his journey from day one. Rather than just writing things down, he built a custom roleplay terminal to track his story as it unfolds.

By his own admission, it's a bit of a geeky project, but the result is a fully immersive take on EVE.

A worm-whole new world Two known wormhole tools have received updates. WormholeSystems now includes options to share maps publicly or via time-limited access. It also introduces more flexible layout customization and a UI refresh.

Whtype.info was updated accordingly after recent updates. It remains a useful reference tool; simply hover over any wormhole to get a quick breakdown of important information.

"What happened?! I'm still alive!"

A number of recent fights made their way from YouTube onto our radar.

OnlyFleets continues to work through footage from their war with Phoenix Co., this time covering the destruction of Legion of xXDEATHXx's Keepstar in 49-U6U. Of course, the video wouldn't be complete without a battle report. Check it out here.

Meanwhile, Warlock Industries covers another round of fighting between WinterCo and the Imperium in Geminate, this time with capitals on grid.

iBeast shared a new video featuring commentary and analysis while taking fights in quite possibly the most sparkly Hyperion in New Eden. Hearing the low armor alarm going off so many times and seeing the heat gradually creep round on the modules kept us on the edge of our seats!

Everything and the Kitchen Sink

Spectre Fleet's GANKED is throwing a farewell party. This last fleet under Virion Stoneshard as FC is set to form up today (28 March) at 19:00 UTC in Airaken. As always, it's a kitchen sink fleet. Bring whatever you're ready to lose.

The Gallente Elections, hues running?

With the Gallente Elections underway, a number of SKIN designs inspired by the ongoing campaigns have popped up. The examples below are from Val en Thielles, showcasing some of the available options.

EVE Creator Awards

The EVE Creator Awards were announced in February, celebrating the many ways creativity shows up across New Eden. And yesterday, the shortlists were published.

Many of the shortlisted names will already be familiar to regular readers of these Community Beats, and it’s great to see them getting this additional spotlight.
