Today’s weather: Mild temperatures and isolated rain showers
The weekend is set to begin cloudy, with isolated showers and dust expected on the island.
Temperatures are expected reach around 22 degrees Celsius inland, up to 20 degrees on the coast and around 12 degrees in the higher mountains.
On early Saturday morning, the depth of snow in Chionistra was 20 centimetres.
Winds will blow southeasterly to southwesterly, at up to 4 Beaufort and may locally increase in strength, reaching up to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be a little rough.
The weather will remain cloudy overnight with isolated rain showers, while rain or even storms are expected in the north.
Temperatures are expected to drop to around 11 degrees Celsius inland, to 14 degrees on the coast and around 5 degrees in the higher mountains.
Moderate to strong winds will blow mainly from the east to the southeast at up to 5 Beaufort and the sea will be slightly rough to rough.
On Sunday, it will be mainly cloudy with localised rain and isolated thunderstorms, which may include hail. Meanwhile, sleet or snow is possible on the higher peaks of Troodos.
Furthermore, there will be dust suspended in the atmosphere, with increased concentrations expected at times.
Temperatures are expected to drop on Sunday, remaining at Sunday’s levels until Tuesday.
