BSSAC three-peat for Combermere boys

Combermere School successfully defended their boys’ title in the Dasani Barbados Secondary Schools’ Athletics Championships.

When the curtain came down on the annual showcase this evening at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex, Combermere finished with 267.5 points for a hat-trick of titles.

The Lodge School were second with 235.5, The St Michael School third with 208, four ahead of Harrison College. St Leonard’s Boys’ School rounded out the top five with 193 points.

Following in order: Queen’s College 161, Christ Church Foundation 114, Coleridge and Parry School 102, St George Secondary 97.5, Alleyne School 76, Grantley Adams Memorial 54, The Lester Vaughan School 51, Alexandra School 43, Parkinson Memorial 41, The Ellerslie School 39.5, Graydon Sealy Secondary 38, Frederick Smith Secondary 34, Daryll Jordan Secondary 25, Princess Margaret Secondary 17, Deighton Griffith Secondary 14, Lockerbie College 11, St Winifred’s School 6, Alma Parris Academy 2, Young Explorers Barbados 2.

Alex Jones-Ifill of St Leonard’s Boys’ School was the victor ludorum with a full 40 points, winning the 100 metres, 200 metres, a record 55.02 seconds in the 400 metres and long jump.

Under-15 Boys Champion: Alex Whitehead (The St Michael School) 33

Under-17 Boys Champion: Taje Coward (The Lester Vaughan School) 28
