Insiders Fear Princess Beatrice Is Overlooking 'Uncomfortable Truths' About Her Husband: 'She Was Blind To Her Father’s Behavior'
Amid reports that Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, are headed for divorce, insiders are sounding the alarm about “uncomfortable truths” that the royal may be overlooking.
As 37-year-old Beatrice and her younger sister, Eugenie, continue to navigate the fallout from their parents’ ties to Jeffrey Epstein, including dad Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest, insiders tell the Daily Mail there is a growing “distance” between Beatrice and Edoardo.
While Beatrice has been “desperate to hold things together,” Edoardo is allegedly more concerned with his business and was seen gallivanting in Florida while Beatrice remained at home in the United Kingdom around the time of her dad’s arrest.
Insiders note that Edoardo’s career, including his design and property business Banda, benefited significantly after he married Beatrice in 2020, and hint that his relationship doesn’t seem to be a priority over his business. “When they first got together, Edo wasn’t nearly so successful,” a former associate told the Daily Mail. “Being adjacent to royalty was transformative.”
“It was the kind of publicity money can’t buy,” a source said. “There were references in the likes of Vogue and Hello! to him joining the Royal Family. It didn’t exactly do his business any harm, did it? Would he have got it if he wasn’t her [Beatrice’s] husband? Of course not.”

While the couple has always seemed happy, Beatrice’s time of need is allegedly exposing cracks that the princess is ignoring. “Things haven’t been great for a while between them, but Beatrice has been determined to soldier on and forge a path through,” said a source.
On March 21, it was reported that Edoardo is focused on keeping Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s scandal away from his business. “He’s really worried his in-laws will affect his business. Banda has been taking off lately and he’s found some great investors among the wealthy Cotswolds set, but it’s taking up a lot of his time and energy. He’s all about himself at the moment. You have to feel for Beatrice,” that source said.
“[Beatrice] really wants to almost naively see the good in people and will turn a blind eye to uncomfortable truths – that is why she was blind to her father’s behaviour, and the same is true of her belief in Edo,” the source continued. “She wants to stay together, but he seems more and more distracted by work and travel. Just when she needs him most, he’s been pulling away.”
Edoardo and Beatrice began dating in 2018, close to the end of his relationship with fiancée Dara Huang, with whom he shares a 9-year-old son. Beatrice wed the British-born descendant of Italian nobility after two years of dating, before welcoming two daughters born in 2021 and 2025.
