Napoli midfielder Hasa chooses Albania over Italy
Napoli midfielder Luis Hasa, currently on loan at Carrarese, has decided to quit the Italy team and play his international football for Albania.
The 22-year-old has dual citizenship, as he was born and raised in Italy, but has Albanian parents.
He has represented Italy at Under-18, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 levels, though he was yet to receive a senior call-up.
As that seemed increasingly unlikely, Hasa decided to switch allegiance and will now represent Albania at senior level.
Hasa will play for Albania in future
He started out in the Juventus youth academy, moving on to Lecce in 2024, then was sold to Napoli in January 2025.
Hasa was then loaned out to Carrarese until the end of this season, scoring five goals with three assists in 25 Serie B appearances.
The creative midfielder picked up three caps for Italy at Under-21 level, most recently in a 1-0 win over France in June 2024.
