Numerous managers have been linked with the Tottenham Hotspur job as the Lilywhites fight to stay in the Premier League, but only one can be appointed if Spurs opt to make a change. We’ve now decided to rank the chances of every linked manager, as well as those who have expressed interest in the role.
For a club that is supposed to be embarking on a new era, it has started in the worst possible way for Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs’ 2025-26 season has been shambolic, to say the least, as the Lilywhites have somehow managed to have a worse domestic campaign than they did last year.
Tottenham are just a single point clear of the bottom three with seven games to go, leaving it all to play for and them in the thick of a relegation scrap.
Thomas Frank led the charge from the start of the season, but he was not getting results and, with the fans firmly against him, he was handed his marching orders.
Since his departure, Igor Tudor has been the one in charge, appointed in an interim role, and results have simply not improved under the Croat.
Tudor’s latest 3-0 defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest has only heaped pressure on him, with Tottenham said to be working behind the scenes to secure a replacement.
Several names have been linked with the Spurs job, while other past players and managers have thrown their hats into the ring. We have now decided to rank their chances of becoming boss and the likelihood of Tottenham even approaching them.
Tottenham return is unlikely for Mauricio Pochettino… yet
Coming in right at the bottom of our list is Mauricio Pochettino, who is currently the fans’ favourite for the managerial job.
Pochettino has openly stated that he would love to return to Spurs at some point, claiming he has unfinished business.
However, that time is very unlikely to be now, given his commitment to the USA national team ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
But if any deal were to materialise, a summer approach is more likely, although reports claim that Real Madrid have Pochettino on their radar.

Tottenham are being linked with Marco Silva
Right below Pochettino, we have Marco Silva, who is also among the names being considered by Spurs, according to Fabrizio Romano.
However, given how well Fulham are performing in the league, where they are sat ninth and still have a chance of securing European football, it is very unlikely the Portuguese leaves now to be involved in a relegation scrap with Spurs.
His contract expires in the summer and, if he fails to renew with Fulham, he becomes a big contender for the Tottenham job ahead of next season.

Roberto De Zerbi wants to wait until the summer
One other name that has been linked with Tottenham in the last few days is Roberto De Zerbi, who is currently out of work.
There are reports claiming that Spurs are in talks with De Zerbi as they aim to convince him to sign now instead of in the summer, which he prefers.
The Italian has Premier League experience and could improve Spurs’ current situation. However, given his reluctance to move at this point, it is unlikely that any deal will happen.

Gus Poyet wants the Tottenham job
Many ex-Tottenham managers and players are keen on coming into the club and stopping the rut.
Many have backed themselves to improve the situation should they be given a chance, and Gus Poyet became one of the latest to throw his name into the ring for the Tottenham job.
It is very unlikely he is under consideration, as there have been no reports linking him to the role thus far, so it is unlikely the club approaches him if he is not on their radar.

Harry Redknapp has been out of work for so long
Continuing the theme of former managers, we have Harry Redknapp, who has also openly stated that he will return to Tottenham.
Again, this remains one where there are no concrete reports, but instead a case of someone putting themselves in the mix.
If Spurs were to look his way, it might be difficult to see how he is given the reins, given how long he has been out of management.

Could Ryan Mason return as Tottenham interim yet again?
Now we move into different territory – the managers who might actually have a chance – and that brings us to Ryan Mason.
Mason has been linked with the Tottenham job by reporters in recent weeks, which hints that he could be on the radar of Spurs.
And who can doubt it, given the number of times Tottenham have turned to him to take the reins in a caretaker capacity. He is the usual go-to, and it will not be a surprise if the club looks his way once more.

Tim Sherwood has thrown his hat in the Spurs ring
Tim Sherwood is another former player and manager who has thrown his name into the mix for the Tottenham job.
He clearly wants this opportunity, given how often he has spoken about going in to make things better.
The former player has not been shy in laying out some of his plans for the players and tactics should he be made boss. However, there are no genuine links from reporters, so it is one where he is keen, but the club might not be.

Chris Hughton linked with Tottenham return
Another manager with experience at Tottenham is Chris Hughton, who has had spells in north London in the past.
There is often talk of Spurs turning to someone who knows the club well, and that is Hughton, who was not just a player but also a manager.
He also knows what it is like to be involved in relegation scraps, given his experience at Brighton when they were far from the force they are now. Hughton has a decent career record and could help Spurs get out of this mess, while, unlike Sherwood, Hughton has been named as one of the managers being considered by Tottenham.

Adi Hutter is out of work and linked with Spurs
Coming in second place, and one likely to be made manager, is Adi Hutter, who has been heavily linked with the Tottenham job.
The Austrian is currently out of work, and it has been explained that Hutter is open to taking the Spurs job, although his appointment would be similar to Igor Tudor’s – a short-term role.
The 47-year-old has a decent CV, having managed spells at Salzburg, Frankfurt and Monchengladbach. He does not have any Premier League experience, which raises questions over whether this is another Tudor-type appointment.

Sean Dyche is a relegation scrap pro
At the top of our list, we have Sean Dyche, who should be a no-brainer at this stage that Tottenham find themselves in.
Let us face it, this is a relegation scrap, and any appointment made now is the final throw of the dice. It is simply a make-or-break decision.
Tottenham can either go for what they know – an expert in what they need in Sean Dyche – or opt for the unknown with most of the other names on this list.
Dyche is a relegation expert, and Spurs are in a relegation scrap. Dyche has Premier League experience and should be able to deliver. Dyche has also been linked with the Tottenham job, although it was reported that he would prefer something more permanent.
