For All Mankind, one of Apple TV's first shows, returns for a fifth season.

One of Apple TV's oldest shows returns for an out-of-this-world fifth season. We've rounded up everything you need to know about For All Mankind, including where to watch the series, a look at the trailer, spinoff details, and news about the future of the show.

For All Mankind first premiered in 2019 with the initial launch of Apple TV (then known as Apple TV Plus). The sci-fi series brought viewers all the way back to 1969, kicking off an alternate history tale in which the Soviet Union beat the United States in putting the first man on the moon. This deviation spurs on an even more intense space race between the two nations and permanently alters the course of history and scientific development. Each season of the show advances about 10 years ahead in history, bringing Season 5 into the 2010s.

Ed Baldwin (Joel Kinnaman) is still kicking in Season 5, and Wrenn Schmidt also returns as Margo Madison. In addition to the Season 1 faves, Toby Kebbell, Edi Gathegi, Cynthy Wu, and Coral Peña are also slated to return. They'll be joined by new cast members Mireille Enos, Costa Ronin, Sean Kaufman, Ruby Cruz, and Ines Asserson.

New episodes drop on Apple TV, which has become an absolute hub for science fiction TV originals. You can find more details on the show and streaming service below.

Where to watch For All Mankind in the US

For All Mankind streams exclusively on Apple TV in the US. Subscriptions cost $13 a month and come with a seven-day free trial. If Apple TV is something you're planning on hanging onto, we recommend giving an annual plan a go since it costs $99, offering significant savings year-over-year. You can learn more in our Apple TV streaming service guide.

Season 5 will last 10 episodes, and one new episode will drop weekly on Fridays. Our team at Business Insider has found that several Apple TV dramas (including Pluribus and Severance) that have Friday global drops typically premiere episodes in the US on Thursday nights (usually at 9 p.m. ET), and the For All Mankind Season 5 premiere has followed suit. We'll keep an eye out and update this page accordingly if that continues to be the case for the series.

Where to watch For All Mankind in the UK, Canada, and everywhere else

For All Mankind is available to stream around the world. Apple TV subscription prices vary by region. In the UK, plans start at £10 a month. Several countries also offer a free trial, so you should check to see what's available in your region.

How to watch For All Mankind from anywhere

For All Mankind streams around the world, so there's a pretty good chance you'll be able to tune into the new season no matter where you are. If you happen to be traveling through a region where you find yourself unable to access your usual services, you can still do so with the help of a VPN. Short for virtual private networks, VPNs are handy cybersecurity tools that let people temporarily change their virtual locations, so their go-to websites and apps work from anywhere.

NordVPN is one of the best options available. It's user-friendly and has a 30-day money-back guarantee if you find that it's not what you're looking for. You can learn more in our NordVPN review.

For All Mankind Season 5 trailer

Apple TV and Sony Pictures Television dropped the official For All Mankind Season 5 trailer in late February. The trailer, set to "Sail" by AWOLNATION, shows life at Happy Valley on Mars, along with the growing resentment back on Earth against the space colony. Check out the full video below:

For All Mankind Season 6

It's good news for For All Mankind fans. Shortly before the fifth season premiere, Apple TV announced that it had renewed the series for a sixth and final season. In the official announcement, Apple TV shared that Season 6 is about to go into production, suggesting a tighter turnaround than recent seasons. In the announcement, Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV, noted a "next year" debut.

Star City

Star City premieres on May 29.

If you don't feel like waiting until Season 6 rolls around, you're in luck. Apple TV will launch a spinoff, Star City, on May 29, the same day that For All Mankind will drop its Season 5 finale. Star City follows the same story as For All Mankind, but from the perspective of the cosmonauts, engineers, and intelligence officers in the Soviet Union.

Note: VPN use is illegal in certain countries, and using VPNs to access region-locked streaming content may constitute a breach of the terms of use for some services. Business Insider does not endorse or condone the illegal use of VPNs.
