GP de Pau
Hello everyone,
First post here, so please be gentle ?
I’m from Pau in the south of France, at the foot of the Pyrenees — home of the historic Pau Grand Prix. Some of you may have raced here, especially during the historic events.
Unfortunately, the Grand Prix has disappeared since 2023 due to organisational and financial issues, which is quite hard to accept considering it dates back to 1899.
I was wondering what the international community thinks about the potential of Pau today.
Could a format inspired by events like Goodwood work here ?
For example :
A high-level historic weekend (classic F1, F2, F3, touring cars, etc.)
A modern international racing weekend
A more global “festival” approach to attract fans, teams and collectors
Pau still has a unique street circuit, strong history and great infrastructure for a city of its size.
Do you think such a revival could realistically attract international interest again? Or is the street circuit model too difficult nowadays ?
Curious to hear your thoughts.
