Sivasagar DM bans specific fishing activities, gears during breeding season
In a bid to safeguard vulnerable fish species during their critical breeding season from April 1 to July 15, the district magistrate of Sivasagar has imposed a temporary ban on certain fishing practices and equipment. This includes prohibiting the use of small mesh nets and the capture of prized species such as Rahu and Chital.
