Govt starts process to withdraw bills for MLAs’ salary hike
Odisha government has initiated the process to withdraw four Bills that proposed a three-fold hike in MLA salaries. These Bills, passed in December without discussion, had sparked widespread public outrage. Following backlash from both BJP and BJD MLAs, the government decided against seeking the Governor's assent, averting a significant increase in remuneration.
