What’s on this weekend

The last weekend of March bids us farewell with a list of exciting events to enjoy in every district. Crafting workshops, tulip festivals, exhibitions, plays, neighbourhood art walks, classic car rallies, and the first of the Easter markets make their appearance. Here’s what’s on this Friday, Saturday and Sunday!

Larnaca district

The weekend begins with two spring bazaars. On Saturday, an Easter Market will be held at the Kiti Municipal District Buildings from 11am to 5pm featuring spring creations, handmade Easter candles, chocolate eggs and Easter gifts. All of the market’s items are made by volunteers with the aim of supporting PASYKAF.

In Pyla, the CopsCats Centre holds its Easter Charity Bazaar also this Saturday, from 10am to 2pm, displaying handmade items, jewellery and second-hand treasures. With every browse and purchase, visitors can support the centre’s rescue cats and learn more about the organisation.

Continuing the spring mood is the Eastern Concert that takes place this Sunday at the Terra Santa Catholic Church. Soprano Valeria Shesternina, pianist and organ player Olga Bortok and viola player and violinist Nikolay Shubin will perform a rich Easter programme of classical pieces and church hymns.

For a dose of rock music, Savino Live has performances planned by Whiskey Lullaby and Stone Cover on Friday, Speak In Whispers and YMNKY on Saturday and an explosive line-up of bands performing for the Metal 2 The Masses Cyprus 2026 event.

Paphos district

Two exciting events are happening in Paphos this Sunday for craft and nature lovers. The Episkopi Environmental Information Centre invites old and young to participate in Maria Karamanli’s Paper Crafting Workshop on Sunday, at 10.30am. Children aged five and over will make all sorts of paper creations for just €5.

Polemi village hosts its Wild Tulip Festival this Sunday, celebrating the blossom season of its local tulips. The Metochi Cultural Centre will host a plethora of activities between 11am and 5pm, including dance performances, poetry readings, live music, workshops, walks to the tulip fields, wine tasting, free loukoumades and stalls with traditional and handmade products.

The concert From Athens to Buenos Aires in Waltz and Tango Rhythms will take place on Sunday evening at the Markideio Municipal Theatre featuring Manolis Neophytou on piano, Giorgos Koulas on percussion, and tango dancers Agis Petridis and Maria Paschalidou. Music from cinema, Argentina and composers Manos Hadjidakis, Astor Piazzolla, Evanthia Reboutsika and more will sound.

Limassol district

Limassol’s weekend agenda has two exciting theatrical productions in store. First up is the Cyprus Theatre Organisation’s Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare, which has received rave reviews so far. This stimulating new interpretation by British Shakespearean director Owen Horsley now makes its way to the Rialto Theatre for a colourful 8.30pm show.

On Sunday, the Cyprus International Theatre Festival 2026 presents an unusual theatrical experience which doubles as a social experiment. In the Who You Are? Questioning event by Magic Garden, the main character is the audience itself. Guests will sit in two rows facing one another, filling out a questionnaire about the person opposite them, based purely on first impressions, intuition and observation. It will be held at ETKO Limassol at 6pm in Russian.

Nicosia district

Linking Nicosia and Limassol is the 48 Hours Cyprus Classic Car Rally, which begins from the capital on Saturday and heads to the coast for more car adventures on Sunday to support the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society.

Starting from Friday is an exhibition that traces real queer memories and testimonies by locals, as part of Alessandro Cazzola’s research project. Titled My Journey Through Your Memories, the exhibition opens at Koraï Space in Nicosia with a guided tour at 5pm before the opening reception at 6pm.

Also beginning on Friday is the Nicosia Antiracist Festival 2026, a two-day event with a rich agenda spanning talks, workshops, inclusive discussions, screenings and performances from the island’s various communities.

On Saturday, the Cyprus Theatre Organisation presents a new production of Brian Friel’s 1980s play Translations that traces continued foreign military presence and British historical patterns overseas. Performing in the play, ongoing until mid-May, is a cast of Cypriot and British actors, speaking in both Cypriot-Greek and English.

The weekend agenda continues with neighbourhood events. In Archangelos, the Pedieos Playground will host a basketball tournament, food stalls, a craft market, DJ sets and more activities for all ages. In Agioi Omologites, the Have you seen it? – Art Around Town initiative kicks off on Sunday and until April 4 it hosts new murals by three artists, an exhibition, guided walks and community BBQs as well as discussions and other events that explore art in the public space.

For rural vibes, the Solea Valley Market is on this Sunday at Oi Myloi – The Mills with a spring edition. Seasonal food treats, plants, handmade jewellery, ceramics, textiles, clothes, toys and second-hand gems will be displayed while children take part in workshops and DJs play groovy tunes.

Ayia Napa district

Lastly, the Run for Autism 2026 event will take place in Ayia Napa this Sunday, with the addition of a half-marathon distance. It is the largest running event in the Famagusta district and includes a half-marathon, a 10km, 5km, 1km and 500m race. The charity race welcomes runners of all ages and levels to run for a good cause, as all proceeds raised will go towards the Famagusta Autism Support Centre, as well as the Smile Project based in Sotira, which provides care and activities for individuals on the autism spectrum. Registrations are open and coming in hot this spring weekend!
