Man United hatch plan to beat rivals to explosive forward with more G/A than Cunha & Mbeumo

Manchester United will explore the market for a new left-winger when the transfer window reopens.

Matheus Cunha and Patrick Dorgu have operated in that role this season, although neither is a natural fit. Hence, the search for a new left winger.

RB Leipzig’s forward Yan Diomande is high on Man United’s list for that position, according Sky Sports journalist Danyal Khan.

United are prepared to move quickly next summer, potentially beating other suitors to Diomande’s signature.

The Ivorian is also on Liverpool’s radar. The Merseyside outfit are exploring the market for a new winger following Mohamed Salah’s decision to leave the club.

In a separate report, United have held a ‘private meeting‘ with Diomande’s entourage over a possible summer move.

United are also monitoring Everton forward, Iliman Ndiaye. The Senegalese has provided nine goal involvements in the Premier League this season— equalling his last season’s haul.

Diomande would be perfect for Man United

Diomande has 17 goal involvements in the Bundesliga this season — more than Cunha, or any United forward has managed in the league this season.

He is averaging 3.3 successful dribbles per game, the highest of any player in the German top-flight.

His progressive carrying numbers place him above 95 percent of players in the division.

Besides his explosiveness and trickery, Diomande is already showing decisiveness in the attacking third — a rare trait for a teenager.

Diomande ranks in the 94th percentile for non-penalty goals. He also sits in the 80th percentile for non-penalty goal involvements.

Also, the 19-year-old ranks above 92 percent of Bundesliga players for assists, while sitting above 93 percent for key passes.

However, Diomande ranks in the 49th percentile for accurate crosses, indicating room for improvement in that area.

United should pull out all the stops to sign the Ivorian winger, despite his €100 million price tag. His signing could be monumental for the club.
