Iran rejects leaked Trump proposal to end war: report
President Donald Trump received a stern rejection Wednesday when Iranian officials dismissed his administration's 15-point plan to end the month-long war, according to Axios reporter Barak Ravid.
The New York Times reported the Trump administration had sent the peace proposal Tuesday night, with CNBC confirming Iran received it. However, Iranian state television announced on Wednesday that Tehran rejected the plan through mediators.
The rejection further complicates the administration's desperate search for a quick exit-rout from the conflict, which has sent oil prices soaring and destabilized global markets.
Trump has reportedly been seeking a way out of the war amid mounting economic and political pressure, though a former Trump security advisor warned that no viable exit strategy may exist.
Iran has vowed to continue fighting in response to the joint U.S.-Israeli military operation launched last month.
