Moms are masters at making holidays special, even when we’re falling behind and holidays seem to arrive out of nowhere. As a busy working mom of two, keeping an entire household’s schedule organized and keeping track of upcoming holidays isn’t a walk in the park. I have a ten-year-old daughter who does all-star cheer and a 14-week-old daughter, and if I’ve learned anything over the last few months, it’s how easy it is to lose track of holidays; that’s why I rely on this one tool.
DoorDash is a lifesaver, really. I was scheduled to give birth to my daughter on December 19, and she arrived on December 7, which eliminated all of my time for Christmas shopping. I was able to secure all the last-minute gifts for my eldest daughter, delivered from the comfort of my bed. And now that Easter is approaching, I plan to do the same thing. Instead of dragging an infant out to multiple stores to seek Easter baskets and gifts to put inside, DoorDash makes it easy to get everything with a few quick clicks without disrupting my baby’s schedule. Here’s what I was shopping for:
-New Easter basket for both kiddos
-Lindt chocolate bunny
-Peeps
-Tween-approved beauty picks
-Baby developmental toys
–Flowers
I started my shopping at whatever beauty retailer is nearby, since all my tween wants for every holiday is skincare. I grabbed everything on my list and then checked out. On the checkout screen, you can choose how you want your items delivered. I always note: “Leave it at the door, and please don’t ring the doorbell.” You can also select delivery window times and even schedule ahead if you need it for later. And that’s it! I repeated the same steps until my Easter list was completed and I didn’t have to leave my couch, which means more time for snuggling my girls! It’s also husband-approved, so your partner can also shop for gifts when you need additional support.
Before you start shopping, note that DoorDash offers a few subscription options to make the holidays even more manageable.
DashPass: Costs $9.99 monthly or $96 annually, which saves around $20, according to DoorDash. The subscription includes $0 delivery fees on eligible food, groceries, and retail orders.
Student DashPass Plan: Students can receive special rates for college/university students, which requires registration on the DoorDash App.
After I crossed out everything on my Easter shopping list, I rewarded myself for saving another holiday with my favorite sushi delivery from DoorDash, too — all in a day’s work.
