How Tottenham could line-up in Adi Hutter’s 3-4-2-1 formation: Udogie at wing-back
Adi Hutter has been tipped to become Tottenham manager should Igor Tudor be sacked, and we have now decided to predict how Spurs could line up in a 4-2-3-1 and 3-4-2-1 formation under the Austrian.
With Igor Tudor under intense pressure following his 3-0 loss against Nottingham Forest on Sunday, there is a chance he could lose his interim manager job at Tottenham.
Reports already suggest that Spurs and Tudor have agreed on a mutual parting of ways, with results on the pitch a factor alongside the passing of his father.
Tottenham are now said to be working hard to secure a replacement for when Tudor departs, and a few names have been linked with the managerial opening.
Adi Hutter is one of the names under consideration for the Tottenham job, and we have now decided to predict how Tottenham could line up under the Austrian.
Two predicted Tottenham lineups under Adi Hutter
Hutter is a manager expected to bring an aggressive, proactive style of football, built around clear structure and intensity both in and out of possession. To achieve such a style, he often prefers to line up in a 3-4-2-1 or a 4-2-3-1 formation.
Given his formation preference, he could be a strong fit for a Spurs side capable of lining up in both systems.
Thomas Frank and Igor Tudor both used back-three systems during their spells, while Frank also often used a 4-2-3-1 formation.
Hutter’s appointment could also align with the return of several injured players, which could affect the personnel deployed.
In goal, we would expect the Austrian to stick with Guglielmo Vicario, as opposed to young Antonin Kinsky. In a back-three setup, Cristian Romero, Kevin Danso and Micky van de Ven could offer protection.

Ultimately, Danso would drop to the bench, while Mathys Tel would come in on the left, Simons would operate as the number 10, and Kudus would shift to the right wing.
