Popular '70s and '80s Classic Rock Band Announces 50th Anniversary Tour Dates

It's always a special thing when a band that's been around for decades continues to tour and share their beloved music with the world, and that's the case with a certain band that formed on March 8, 1977, and is still rocking.

That band is Foreigner. On Tuesday, March 24, the group announced that they're adding more dates to their 50th anniversary tour, totaling more than 90 worldwide. The band just passed its 50th anniversary on March 8, so this tour is a slightly late celebration of that milestone.

"With more than 80 million albums sold worldwide and a catalog of era-defining hits that have dominated rock radio for decades, the band is marking the occasion with an expansive international touring schedule and a series of unique events throughout 2026 and beyond," the band announced in an official statement.

The new dates include stops in Albuquerque, El Paso, Scottsdale, Reno and more, on top of European tour dates. The tour will also run into 2027, which will bring the 50th anniversary of the March 8, 1977 release of its iconic self-titled debut album, Foreigner. "What's striking about Foreigner at fifty isn't just endurance," publication Audio Ink Radio says of the run. "It's how they've learned to stretch and bend the rules without ever breaking the essence of their sound."

"When I started Foreigner in 1976, I never could have imagined that these songs would carry us through 50 years and still resonate with audiences around the world," founding member Mick Jones said in a statement. "This anniversary year is a celebration not just of the music, but of the fans who have been with us every step of the way."

In other news, in April, the band's musical, Feels Like The First Time – The Foreigner Musical, will debut at The Little Theatre on LIU's Brookville campus, running 11 dates from Friday, April 17 through Sunday, April 26, 2026. Tickets are available now at the venue's official website. No word yet on where else the show may play, but with the band's timeless music being the centerpiece, it will likely find more showings at some point.

The theater show, according to a release, "is set in 1985 and follows an ordinary suburban family whose lives are turned upside down when they win an extraordinary MTV sweepstakes—a weekend visit from a rock icon, culminating in a private concert in their own backyard."

So, 2026 and 2027 are bringing lots of Foreigner action. Don't expect to see this classic rock band retire anytime soon. So, expect to hear "Feels Like the First Time" a lot over the next few years.
