When someone kisses you, you don’t want to feel like they’re trying to suck the life out of you. When someone hugs you, you don’t want to feel like they’re trying to crush your rib cage. When someone tells you that they love you, you don’t want to feel like they’re locking a pair of handcuffs around your wrists.

But who gets to decide whether a lover is being “too” clingy? Obviously, it’s the person to whom they’re clinging. If you wind up feeling trapped rather than protected, annoyed rather than flattered, and stalked rather than desired, you’re probably with someone who’s too clingy for you.

Here are the four zodiac signs most likely to wind up being a Stage 5 Clinger.

1. Cancer

For a first date, Cancer brings flowers. For a second date, they bring a U-Haul. They get attached quickly and with the tenacity of a river leech—and you may wind up having to go to great lengths to pry them from your side if it all proves to be too much for you. Famously emotional, Cancers expect everyone to fall as head-over-heels in love with them, to be as obsessed with them, and to be completely unable of getting them out of your head, as they are with you. They’ll wake you up while you’re sleeping to tell you that they love you. They’ll walk into the bathroom and give you a hug while you’re taking a shower. If you like that sort of thing, then you’ll love dating a Cancer. But if it doesn’t sound fun to you, you may have to wind up getting a restraining order.

2. Taurus

There’s an episode of Seinfeld where George tells a woman that he’s breaking up with her, and she comes right back with a firm and stiff, “NO.” I’ll bet that woman was a bullishly stubborn Taurus. A fixed Earth sign ruled by Venus, the planet of love, Taurus has trouble taking “no” for an answer. When they fall for you, they start love-bombing you like it’s World War III. If they like you enough, they might even suggest planting a GPS chip in you so that they can track your whereabouts at all times. They’ll say it’s to make sure you’re OK, but you’ll feel like they’re spying on you.

3. Pisces

Pisceans love to be loved and dread the thought of ever losing someone who’s pierced the veil of intimacy and entered the dark, forbidden realm of their heart. They are ruled by Jupiter, which makes them intensely loyal—perhaps a little too loyal. They know they’re needy, they are painfully aware that it can be a turnoff, but in many cases they just can’t help themselves from craving constant reassurance. You may wind up having to reassure them every five minutes. You could end up feeling like an overworked parking-lot attendant having to validate them all the time. The saddest part is that in their flailing efforts to hold onto you, they may only wind up pushing you away.

4. Virgo

It’s great to feel wanted. It’s awful to feel smothered. Out of all the star signs, Virgos are the most deathly afraid of rejection. That’s why when they fall in love, they will hold onto you like you’re a life preserver. They feel that if they don’t clutch onto you tightly, you’ll slip through their fingers. They may wind up being obsessively jealous, even stooping to constant accusations of cheating, no matter how faithful you are. They may start to panic if they sense you are pulling away. They could even try to isolate you from family and friends just so they can have you all to themselves.
