Governor Hochul discusses proposed climate act changes
New York's landmark 2019 Climate Act was under review according to Governor Kathy Hochul. After a government memo was released earlier this year, New Yorkers learned they could face utility bill increases of over $4,000.
On Monday, Governor Hochul spoke to the media for the first time since she called for changes to the state's major climate act to prevent rising utility costs. It required 40% emissions reductions by 2030 and 85% reduction by 2050.
