Why We Love This Deal
If you’re familiar with the New Balance catalog, you might be familiar with the Numeric series. These made-to-skate but still cool-enough-to-chill-in shoes largely didn’t land, with wearers complaining about tight fits or poor construction. Yet one shoe in the bunch, the NB Numeric Jamie Foy 306, evaded the criticism and quickly became emblematic of what the shoe style was going for: a raw vulcanized shoe with impeccable style.
Even though this shoe made waves, Joe’s New Balance Outlet has the Jamie Foy 306 on sale for as low as $42, a discount of 56% off the standard price. It’s a sharp shoe with a unique feel due to its vulcanized rubber footbed that both skaters and those wanting to feel closer to the ground they walk on should give a chance.

What Shoppers Should Know

- Best Use Case: Skateboarding, scootering, walking
When you think about retro-styled New Balance, like the 574 or 515, there’s a bit of fuzziness to the outside, but the Jamie Foy 306 is nothing like that, with crisp edges to its design and an overall solid look. It’s like jumping from a CRT TV to a modern 4K. But, at the same time, the charm absolutely remains.
The upper is a combination of suede and synthetic materials, stitched together so cleanly you’d swear the T500 was made by a different company altogether. All is placed on top of a rubber outsole, with a touch of gumshoe brown in the colorway pictured above or pure white in the black and white colorway.
To sum up pro skater Jamie Foy’s opinions about his shoe, it’s a low-tech vulcanized shoe. Vulcanization creates a highly flexible sole that allows the wearer to feel the ground better with the foot, versus traditionally padded soles, which can be useful for board feel while skateboarding. One tech piece he does point out is the wrap-around plastic strip (visibly seen as an accent color next to the “N” logo) that adds extra durability to the top of the shoe, extending its life.

What Shoppers Are Saying
One shopper, in a review found on the New Balance site, where the shoe is $70, called their Jamie Foys their “favorite skate shoes” they’ve ever owned, and set the expectations for what you should feel as an owner: “They're vulcanized so you're going to feel the ground much more than a cup sole, but overall great for skateboarding and casual wear once they're broken in.”
A Bay Area wearer said they “love how comfortable and stylish these look” and said they are “very durable” shoes.
