BoCCF to host presentation on National Bank of Greece archive on April 3
The Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation (BoCCF) will host a presentation entitled: “The Historical and Palaeographical Archive of the National Bank of Greece Cultural Foundation: its mission, operation, activities and its relationship with Cyprus” on Friday, April 3, 2026 at 7pm.
The Historical Archive of the Bank of Cyprus is collaborating with and presenting the Historical and Palaeographical Archive of the National Bank of Greece Cultural Foundation, which for five decades has preserved, studied and promoted valuable manuscript sources and early printed books. The lecture will present the activities of the Palaeographical Archive, its collections, its missions and the documentation of Cypriot manuscripts, as well as its contribution to the training of new researchers through palaeography courses.
The presentation will be given by Dr Stavros Grimanis, Head of the Historical and Palaeographical Archive of the National Bank of Greece Cultural Foundation (IPA/MIET). As part of the event, Nadina Pafitou and Nikiforos Orfanos will be honoured in recognition of their valuable contribution and substantial role in the creation and establishment of the Historical Archive of the Bank of Cyprus.
The Archive is permanently housed in the historic Faneromeni building, the Bank’s first privately owned property. It preserves material dating from 1899 to the present day, including loose documents, volumes, audiovisual material and collections of office equipment that reflect the course and development of the Group.
