To the editor: U.S. should evolve toward Medicare for all

Independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders introduced a Medicare-for-all bill in the U.S. Senate last year that would provide health insurance to every American, eliminate Medicare’s current deductibles and cost-sharing, and allow Medicare to negotiate all drug prices with drug companies. Robert Reich, former Secretary of Labor in the Clinton administration and professor emeritus at University of California Berkeley, has also recently advocated for Medicare-for-all in a video posted on X.
