Dejan Kulusevski to Liverpool? Tim Sherwood makes Tottenham summer transfer prediction

Tim Sherwood has revealed what he expects Tottenham Hotspur to do this summer as some of their best players are being eyed by the biggest clubs in Europe.

Reports indicate that there could be a mass exodus from Spurs if they get relegated this season, but the fear is that the Lilywhites would have their best players poached even if they stay up.

The likes of Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero are expected to be highly sought-after this summer, and the North Londoners may have a hard time convincing those players that they can fulfil their ambitions at N17.

Spurs’ young gems such as Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray are also being eyed by big clubs, but one former Tottenham midfielder has made a confident prediction.

Tim Sherwood makes Tottenham transfer claim when asked about Dejan Kulusevski’s future

It was put to Tim Sherwood that Liverpool could do with the signing of Dejan Kulusevski, who has been sidelined with injury since last summer.

The former Spurs boss does believe that the likes of Kulusevski could be poached if the Lilywhites go down, but he expects Spurs to fight to keep their best players if they stay up.

Sherwood told NewBetting Offers: “Could Dejan Kulusevski be picked up by Liverpool? He’s almost become a better player while he hasn’t been playing, because everyone talks about how much they’re missing him. Let’s not forget he was part of the team who finished 17th last year.

“All of those players who have been injured finished 17th last year. They’re not world-beaters, are they? They may help you with numbers, bringing them in like James Maddison as well. I love Maddison, he’s a very good player. Gives them something different. Kulusevski as well, I really like him.

“Someone might come and cherry-pick a couple of Tottenham players, but I think Tottenham would resist it. They would definitely resist it if they’re in the Premier League. They might not be able to if they’re in the Championship, which is worrying.”

Spurs are planning to make big changes if they stay up

Several sources have claimed that Tottenham are prepared to undertake an ambitious rebuild of their squad if they stay up this season.

It has been suggested that Spurs are also ready to remove their restrictive salary cap in order to compete for the elite talent in the transfer market.

However, for those plans to materialise, Tottenham would first have to avoid relegation, which appears a distinct possibility with eight league games left.
