Metallica is keeping the M72 World Tour rolling in 2026, with a big European stadium run followed by a Las Vegas Sphere residency later in the year. On Metallica's official tour calendar, the 2026 leg includes stops like Athens, Bucharest, Chorzów, Frankfurt, Zurich, Berlin, Bologna, Budapest, Dublin, Glasgow, Cardiff, and London. The band also confirmed a Sphere residency called Life Burns Faster with multiple dates in October, already sold out on Metallica's site.
Metallica formed in 1981 and became a foundational force in thrash metal, eventually growing into one of the most commercially successful heavy bands ever. Their classic run — "Kill 'Em All," "Ride the Lightning," "Master of Puppets," and "…And Justice for All" — set the template for modern metal, while Metallica (aka The Black Album) made them a mainstream stadium draw with songs like "Enter Sandman." Today's lineup: James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo, is still built for big live shows, and the M72 era has leaned into the band's "no repeat" weekend approach (different setlists across multiple nights), which keeps even repeat attendees coming back.
Ticket availability depends on the date and location. Some European shows still have standard tickets available, but most VIP options are sold out. If your preferred night is sold out on the primary market, fans typically turn to verified resale platforms like StubHub and Vivid Seats.

How much are Metallica tickets?
If you're shopping for Metallica tickets on the resale market, prices can swing a lot depending on the city (and whether you're buying a one-night stadium show or a marquee residency date). On Vivid Seats, Metallica tickets currently start at $274, which gives you a rough "get-in" baseline for the 2026 run. Over on StubHub, a large 2026 stadium date like Athens (May 9) shows a range from about $305 on the low end up to over $694 for higher-demand sections and better sightlines.
The Sphere shows are a different beast. On Vivid Seats, one Vegas Sphere date shows listings starting around $775 per ticket, with plenty of premium options rising well beyond that depending on section (including floor and Snake Pit-style areas). Another Sphere date shows even steeper top-end listings — up to roughly $4,812 — highlighting just how expensive the best seats can get for this residency. On StubHub, a Sphere night like October 15 ranges from about $977 at the low end to over $3,000 for top-tier inventory.
In short, if you want the lowest possible price, your best bet is usually a non-residency stadium night (and upper levels), while Sphere dates tend to start higher and spike faster, especially for premium sections.
