Gray: No Better Time To Play Motherwell
Hibernian FC Head Coach David Gray says there is "no better time" to face Motherwell as we seek to close the gap between us in the William Hill Premiership table.
David Gray's men are undefeated in four league matches heading into the encounter - whilst Motherwell have lost their last two - as the six-point deficit could be halved should we prevail at Fir Park this weekend.
Speaking to Hibs TV ahead of Saturday's match, Gray stated training at HTC had an added "edge" as the squad eagerly prepare for the trip to North Lanarkshire.
"Preparations have been really good, as you would expect given the magnitude of the game. Everyone is really looking forward to it. It's a big opportunity because of where we need to get to.
"Two good sides going into the game, it's one the neutrals will be looking forward to in terms of the outcome of the game. We have got eight games to go, eight cup finals, but none more important than this weekend.
"We are well aware of that, the players are well aware of that. Training has had a little edge because of that, knowing what is at stake.
"They're a very well coached side that have been playing really well. The game we played against them last time, at Easter Road, there was very little in the game. We had a lot of control within that game.
"The last time we went to Fir Park, we had a disappointing 10-15 minutes, everything that could have went wrong did. We need to be better.
"This is a brilliant opportunity because of everything I speak about every week; trying to catch that team in front of us. There is no better time to do that while playing the team above us. The incentives are there and the players will be ready for it."
Gray also provided a squad update, with positive news regarding our two players on the treatment table confirmed.
"I mentioned last week about the squad being very healthy. Rudi Molotnikov is the one who picked up an injury, he has now trained at the backed of this week, but he won't be involved this weekend, it's too soon for him.
"Josh Mulligan is back on the grass today, which is really positive for him, in the next step in his rehab.
"Meanwhile, everyone else has had a full weeks training."
