The ‘Calculated’ Reason ‘The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives’ Star Jessi Draper’s Husband Filed For Divorce, According To Fans
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Jessi Draper’s husband Jordan Ngatikaura filed for divorce on March 19, and fans are raising their eyebrows at the “calculated” timing of the move.
TMZ broke the news of the divorce, which comes after 5 years of marriage. The exes’ relationship ups and downs were documented on the Hulu reality series, including Draper’s emotional affair with Marciana Brunette, from Vanderpump Villa.
During season 4 of SLOMW, which premiered on March 12, Draper revealed she is going back to her maiden name and looked into her prenup, where she discovered that she didn’t have protection of her own financial assets in case of divorce from Ngatikaura, with whom she shares kids Jagger, 5, and Jovi, 3. Ngatikaura is also dad to daughter Peyton, 13, from a previous relationship.
“We discovered that me and Jordan did not have witnesses sign [the prenup], so that could mean that the prenup is voided,” Draper said in one episode, per Us Weekly. “This information has really rattled me because I just don’t know what that could mean for me, my business and the security of my family.”
She added, “Jordan would be a very hard person to divorce. He would be spiteful and vindictive. I think he would play a little bit dirty. So I just have to prepare myself that if we do get divorced that it could go that way.”
On March 13, she told Cosmopolitan that her and Ngatikaura were “in a lot of therapy” and taking their relationship “day by day.”

However, in light of Ngatikaura filing for divorce just one week after the latest season of the reality series aired, fans are speculating that this move is on purpose so that Ngatikaura could financially benefit. One person took to X to say, “He must have just finished the new season and saw the episode about the flaw in the pre-nup and ran straight to the courthouse to file first.”
Another wrote, “He’s after her money. It’s all calculated with this guy even with the dad toc thing.”
Others pointed out the timing of Jordan filing for divorce and releasing a statement on the same day that TMZ released a video of SLOMW star Taylor Frankie Paul getting into a physical altercation with her ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen. “Of course Jordan had to make today about him,” one person said.
Ngatikaura released a statement to TMZ on March 19, saying, “This has not been an easy decision and it comes with a heavy heart. I’m grateful for the shared memories and the lessons. While our paths are now moving in different directions, my priority remains my children and ensuring they feel loved, supported, and protected through this transition.”
“I am committed to handling this next chapter with kindness and respect,” he added. “I kindly ask for privacy and understanding as we navigate this as a family.”
With all the drama, one can’t help but wonder: how will MomTok survive this?
