On International Day of Forests, Exinity and Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation highlight the power of environmental innovation
Planting the seeds of change
On the occasion of the International Day of Forests celebrated on March 21st, Exinity, together with the Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation, reaffirm their commitment to environmental sustainability by highlighting their early and ongoing support of ECOmbare, a purpose-driven initiative dedicated to restoring Cyprus’s forest ecosystems.
As an early supporter of ECOmbare, the Foundation played a defining role during the organisation’s formative stage, not only providing financial backing but also helping to bring its very first project to life: the “Back to the Roots Festival” in the village of Arakapas, held in October 2024. Supporting driven, like-minded startups at an early stage is essential, as it allows them to test, implement and scale innovative solutions. In ECOmbare’s case, this initial support paved the way for further collaborations, encouraging others to follow suit and contribute to a shared environmental vision.
A key milestone in this journey was the “Restore Forest” corporate beach volleyball fundraising tournament, held in late November 2025, at the Limassol Municipal Beach Sports Centre. The initiative was honoured by the presence of Limassol Mayor Yiannis Armeftis and the President of the Limassol District Local Government Organisation, Yiannis Tsoulouftas, both of whom stressed the importance of collective environmental responsibility and cross-sector collaboration. The event brought together companies, athletes, volunteers, and other local authorities around a shared goal: supporting the restoration of Cyprus’s forests, which can be severely impacted by threats such as last summer’s wildfires.
The tournament was more than just a sporting event. It served as a launchpad for a remarkable environmental initiative. A total of twelve corporate teams participated in the friendly 4×4 tournament, reflecting the growing engagement of Cyprus-based businesses in impactful sustainability initiatives. Thanks to the funds raised, 140 trees were planted in an alley in the mountains near Agia Elisavet Church in Agios Amvrosios, helping to revitalise the burned slopes using innovative Groasis Waterboxx technology. Over 200 enthusiastic volunteers came together, eager to learn and make a difference. The Exinity executive team and their families also took part in the effort, planting 30 Waterboxx units alongside volunteers, reinforcing their dedication to nurturing a greener future.
Through their shared vision and commitment, Exinity and Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation continue to transform early support into long-term impact, empowering initiatives like ECOmbare, which aims to restore Cyprus’s forests, and building a scalable model for environmental action driven by collaboration, innovation and community engagement.
