To the editor: Organization falsely slammed for civic action
On Feb. 24, civically engaged members of Toledo’s community had the misfortune of waking up to an editorial in The Blade that slandered them for the crime of engaging in democracy. These community members, friends, and members of the Toledo chapter of American Muslims for Palestine, or AMP, were characterized as having “besieged” the Toledo City Council “to make national foreign policy” by urging their elected officials to try and limit the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s ability to kidnap Toledo’s residents.
