Beloved Action Star Hospitalized Days After 86th Birthday
It was just last week when Hollywood action star Chuck Norris celebrated his 86th birthday by posting a video of himself sparring with the best of them.
The Walker, Texas Ranger star proudly said he doesn't age, he levels up. Anyone who has followed his career knows that Norris has been active his entire life, even now in his 80s, which is why it came as a huge surprise for fans to learn he's been hospitalized.
What Happened to Chuck Norris?
TMZ reported on Thursday that Norris was hospitalized in Hawaii after suffering a "medical emergency." It's unclear at the moment the specifics about the medical emergency, but the outlet reports he's in "good spirits."
The outlet went on to report that the medical emergency occurred in the last 24 hours on the island of Kauai. It appears he was training on the island, though it's not immediately known if the training triggered the medical emergency.
Men's Journal has reached out to a rep for comment.
He Celebrated His 86th Birthday Last Week
The action star last week posted a 5-second clip of him sparring. He says in the video, "I don't age. I level up," before delivering a crushing upper cut.
He went on to caption the post, "I'm 86 today! Nothing like some playful action on a sunny day to make you feel young. I'm grateful for another year, good health and the chance to keep doing what I love. Thank you all for being the best fans in the world. Your support through the years has meant more to me than you’ll ever know."
He signed off, "God Bless, Chuck Norris."
It's reported that Norris recently completed filming Zombie Plane, starring Vanilla Ice, Brian Austin Green, and Ice-T.
Back in his day, Norris trained and got in the ring with the best of them, literally. He trained with the legendary Bruce Lee and appeared together in the 1972 film The Way of the Dragon.
Norris, an expert martial artist who holds multiple black belts, appeared in more than a dozen action films, including The Delta Force, Hellbound, and he even had a cameo as himself in Dodgeball.
He's perhaps best known for starring in the CBS hit series, Walker, Texas Ranger, which aired for nine seasons on CBS from 1993 to 2001. The series also starred Clarence Gilyard, a former football player who becomes a Texas Ranger and Norris's trusted sidekick.
The show was so popular that it was broadcast in over 100 countries. Walker, Texas Ranger: Trial by Fire was released in 2005 as a TV movie.
