Premier League Relegation Battle Betting Odds 2025/26
At the start of the 2025/26 English Premier League (EPL) season, a lot of people were confident that they could not only predict the top teams battling it out for the title, but also, the three teams doomed for relegation down into the Championship.
Considering the previous year, all three teams promoted to the top flight of English football went right back down the following year, fans, and even some bookies, were confident the same would happen for the 2025/2026 season.
Recently promoted were Leeds, Sunderland, and Burnley. Naturally the smart money would be on those 3 going straight back down. A few months into the season however, and it was clear that that was not going to be the case. Sunderland for example, got off to a flying start and, until recently, were the only team in the league not beaten at home for the season. Leeds also picked up a few wins and gave themselves more than a fighting chance.
So, with only a handful of games left to play this season, which teams are in danger of being relegated, and what kind of odds can we expect?
We’ve used odds from the biggest bookmakers on Betfree.ie to provide a look at the Premier League relegation battle odds for the 2025/26 season.
Wolves
Currently, Wolverhampton Wanderers are favourites to be relegated down into the championship, with bookmakers BEDFRED and BetMGM providing odds of 1/100 for Wolves to be relegated.
Wolves currently sit at the bottom of the table with just 16 points from 30 matches. Despite this however, they’re certainly not going down without a fight and have picked up good results over the last month or so, including a victory over Liverpool, although Liverpool did get their revenge in the FA Cup the following game.
What’s remarkable is the fact that 50% of their 16 points have come in their last five games, having picked up 8 points and keeping themselves in contention. Despite rallying, bookmakers fear it may be too little too late, especially this late on in the season, though stranger things have happened.
Burnley
Sitting just above Wolves (as of this writing) we have Burnley, who currently have 19 points, though they do have a game in hand, having only played 29 games.
Both BetMGM and BETFRED currently have Burnley at 1/100 to be relegated. Considering their form in recent months, relegation is looking likely. Although a point is still a point, most of Burnley’s points have been in the form of draws, rather than victories. A distinct lack of clinical finishing could be all the difference and may very well have sealed their fate. Ironically, their last point actually came against one of the EPL’s top teams, in a lacklustre 1-1 draw against Chelsea.
Their last victory in the Prem was against Cystal Palace in a 3-2 win on the 11th of Feb. Since then, however, they’ve lacked that killer instinct in front of goal, and this has very much been reflected in the table.
West Ham
West Ham United are currently third favs to be relegated as of this writing, with BetMGM providing odds of 6/4 and BETFRED having them at 11/8 to drop down into the second tier of English football.
Like Wolves however, the Hammers are not going down without a fight and could very well turn things around thanks to the 8 points they’ve picked up in their last five matches, just like Wolves. As of this writing, West Ham are 18th in the table and occupying that final dreaded relegation spot. They can take solace in the fact they’re level with points on 17th placed Nottingham Forest, only with the worse goal difference.
Their last victory in the EPL came in a 1-0 win over Fulham, thanks to a 65th minute strike from mainstay Summerville. They also progressed to the quarter finals of the FA Cup, after beating Brentford 5-2 on penalties, so momentum is on their side.
That goal difference, however, could potentially be the deciding factor this season. Should the Hammers go down on goal difference, it’ll be a crying shame. They’ve some tough fixtures ahead, but so have Forest, and there’s still a couple of months to go yet.
Tottenham Hotspur
Currently, Tottenham are fourth favs to be relegated, and after a truly woeful display in the Champion’s League against Athletico Madrid on Tuesday night, there’s a very real risk that Spurs could go down.
Spurs have lost their last 5 EPL games on the bounce, and confidence is likely to be at rock bottom. This was evident in their display against Madrid the Champion’s League, where the Spaniards destroyed Spurs 5 – 2, 3 of which came in the first 15 minutes of the match.
Igor Tudor has also come under fire, after his experiment with starting keeper Antonin Kinsky failed in spectacular fashion, with the poor keeper making some huge mistakes in all three of Madrid’s goals and being subbed off after just 17 minutes. To be fair to the keeper, the pitch was extremely slippery, but even so, that performance has likely sealed his fate at Spurs.
Spurs are in real trouble, and this is reflected in the odds. BETFRED currently have them at 6/4 odds to go down, whereas BetMGM are offering relegation odds of 8/5.
