Rory McIlRoy's Masters Champion Dinner Revealed, How Does It Compare to Past Winners?
Many of golf's foundational values are built on tradition and honoring history, and no event exemplifies that more than the Masters. Golf's most prestigious event is held in Georgia each year, bringing dozens of the world's greatest players together to compete for the iconic green jacket.
The tournament officially begins with a ceremonial shot from past winners, but another tradition in Augusta also signals the start of Masters season. Each year, the most recent Masters winner hosts the annual champion's dinner.
The meal is served on the Tuesday of Masters week, and the reigning champion is tasked with selecting the menu. Past winners have chosen to highlight personal and cultural favorites, and one of the greatest golfers of all time has revealed his own menu as a first-time winner.
What's On Rory McIlroy's Masters Dinner Menu?
Rory McIlroy, the 2025 Masters champion, will serve a main course featuring a choice of either wagyu filet mignon or seared salmon. The main course is to be served with traditional Irish champ, sauteed brussels sprouts, glazed carrots with brown butter, and onion rings.

McIlroy's first course will include yellowfin tuna carpaccio, served with foie gras and a toasted baguette. Appetizers for McIlroy's champion's dinner will include grilled elk sliders, bacon-wrapped dates, rock shrimp tempura and a peach and ricotta flatbread.
For dessert, McIlroy's esteemed guests will receive sticky toffee pudding, complete with ice cream and a warm toffee sauce.
McIlroy's menu is a detour from last year's winner Scottie Scheffler. For his second Masters victory, Scheffler requested items like cheeseburger sliders (served "Scottie-Style"), Texas-style chili and a chocolate-chip cookie in a skillet pan for dessert.
Both Scheffler and McIlroy gave their guests a choice of steak or seafood for the main course, with Scheffler offering a ribeye or blackened redfish. Each winner also included shrimp in their list of appetizers.
Time-Honored Tradition at Augusta National
Through the years, Masters champions have selected a variety of cuisines for their dinner menus. Five-time Masters champion Tiger Woods has served both cheeseburgers and sushi rolls on separate occasions, while others like Ben Crenshaw and Jordan Spieth have opted for Texas barbecue.
Phil Mickelson and Jose Maria Olazabal each chose paella for their respective dinners as champions, and Scottish golfer Sandy Lyle served haggis in the late 1980s.
Typically, multi-time winners choose a different menu on their second victory, but Bubba Watson chose the exact same menu in 2015. After winning the event and his first green jacket two years prior, he chose grilled chicken with green beans, mashed potatoes, corn, macaroni and cheese and cornbread - the same dinner he opted for two years prior.
The Masters dinner tradition began in 1952, when all-time great Ben Hogan invited the Masters champions for a meal.
“It's my wish to invite all the Masters champions who are going to be here, plus (tournament co-founders) Bob Jones and Cliff Roberts. The latter has agreed to make available his room for the dinner party and I hope you can be on hand promptly at 7:15 p.m," Hogan said in his invitation.
"My only stipulation is that you wear your green coat.” Masters champions have kept the event going for over half a century, and McIlroy will be the latest to add his personal choices to the all-time menu.
